Timbercreek and their friends, the previous owners Transglobe, have purposefully neglected the houses in Herongate because they knew they would be kicking us out. Neglecting their properties creates unsafe and unhealthy environments. It makes people uncomfortable and forces people to move. It creates social isolation and the conditions of poverty are internalized by the people who live amongst the systematic neglect. Timbercreek are slumlords, abetted by the City of Ottawa. Countless property standards are violated by Timbercreek, from unlit parking garages to garbage bins overflowing and not covered to major foundation problems left unaddressed.
